Meet Betty

Every potter develops distinctive techniques that set their work apart from the others.  These techniques show up in their design of the pieces — how the handles and details are formed — how the various glazes are formulated and used.

"I really love working with clay. I get up in the morning excited about it and what I can do. I've always had an experimental piece and I am always exploring. It's a wonderful way to live"

Betty has a Bachelor's degree in Art from MSU and taught Art in Flint for ten years. She also has studied extensively at the Flint Institute of Art and Oakland University in Royal Oak.

She opened her studio in Tawas City a few years ago in a beautiful wooded area that has been in her family for two generations.
